Vegan Cut's Snack Box Review

When I got asked if I wanted to review one of Vegan Cuts famed snack boxes for the site, I jumped at the opportunity. After all, these things helped me immensely when I first went vegan. Vegan treats you didn't know existed or have been wanting to try delivered to my door step. Yes please. It had been awhile since I've received one and was promptly sent the December 2014 box.

Pretty jammin'. To my pleasant surprise it was filled with a full size canister of oatmeal packed with superfood grains, pico de gallo bean & rice chips, a chai flavored nutritional shake, cola flavored candy soda bottles, an Eli's Earth Bars Treasure Bar, crunchy coconut chips, a Nutiva coconut treat, vegan chipotle parmesan, hard candies, and a festive candy cane. Since I try to limit sweets, I went for those first. The candy bar was reminiscent of a Milky Way and the cola candies were gone in seconds. Much better than those syrup filled wax candies of my youth.

I've made some oatmeal with almond milk and added some maple syrup. First time I've ever had this brand and it was delicious. For a post workout smoothie, I blended the chai with water and a banana and loved it. Popped some hard candies here and there, but can never resist the urge to not just chomp them. A non-vegan friend of mine wanted a snack so I tossed him the Beanfields chips and he devoured them. I, of course, brought my candy cane to Christmas dinner so I wasn't singled out.

All in all, the boxes are great for people who are in transition or looking for new snacks. As the price on the box rises, it's harder for me personally to justify it because I feel like I could spend the same about of money at the store getting stuff that I know I love as opposed to taking a gamble. On the other hand, it makes a great gift! I'd love to get a subscription for the holidays or another special occasion. Who wouldn't want to be guaranteed a year long snack adventure?
